ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Throughout my time at Texas State University, I took several courses surrounding different methods of digital media, and learned a vast variety of skills for different crafts in the field. Here are just a few of the projects I completed for different courses.
Rollback: the Miracle Fix for Online Fighting
Completed as a final project for my Web Design and Publishing course, this project had me apply web building and design, data analysis and programming, and a fair amount of writing. Read it here and learn about the new age of online fighting!
Audio Journalism on Local Business
The course Multimedia Journalism had me practicing several facets of the journalistic process, and these two projects come from our unit on radio journalism. From conducting interviews to mixing together audio to verbally performing my story, it was my task to fulfill every facet behind an audio journalism story.
Writing with a Press Release
While I was often given vast creative control over my own projects at Texas State, this one in particular stripped that control in favor of strict following of guidelines, a mindset that I’ve already had to make use of in my professional work. Completed as a Midterm Assignment for my Writing in Journalism course, this story required I follow the facts given by a Press Release for a by-the-book, solely factual telling of events.
